Whole roast bream, blood orange, fennel.
Dish of the week

Whole roast bream,blood orange, fennel.

Chosen by Ines, head chef

The bream come in from the day boats on Tuesday and go straight into the wood oven, whole, on a bed of fennel.

We finish them with blood orange, salsa verde and a spoon of the roasting juices, and bring them to the table on the bone.

It feeds one generously or two politely. There are twelve a night, so it’s worth mentioning when you book.

Our story

A neighbourhood place,cooked from scratch.

A corner that needed a kitchen.
01 · The street

A corner that needed a kitchen.

Fennick opened in 2019 in an old chandler’s shop on Harbour Street. We kept the tiled floor, took out the shelving and put the kitchen where everyone could see it.

Bread at six, stock by eight.

Bread at six, stock by eight.

Everything that can be made here is: the bread, the butter, the pasta, the ice cream. It takes longer. It tastes like it.

Thirty-one of us, most of them regulars first.
03 · The people

Thirty-one of us, most of them regulars first.

Our head chef started as a Saturday pot-washer. Half the floor team came in for coffee and asked if we were hiring.
